Mandrake wont work

Damn, cant get Mandrake to install. I cant get the video settings to work, it either crashes the PC, wich means i have to go through reinstalling it for 2 hrs as im not 733T enough to command line it. or it just goes to the wrong resolution and writes lines across the screen.
