Thistle Alpha 2 Release Just a very quick post, since Fiona and I are leaving soon to drive to my father’s house to have dinner with him and my stepmother. We’ve been packing and organising all day - we fly out tomorrow at 1pm!But you don’t care about that; you care about the new Thistle alpha release!You can download Thistle alpha 2 here.You can also still download alpha 1 (you luddite).For those upgrading from alpha 1, just remember these points:

Replace “index.php” with the new version.

Set all your options appropriately in the new “index.php”.

If you’re using any of the types included with Thistle, use the new versions.

At the very least, add the new “rss2.php” and “attrib.php” types to your types folder.

Use the new versions of the modules too.

Read the “RELEASE_NOTES.txt” file for a list of improvements and additions.

Have fun, and don’t forget to report bugs on the Bug Reports forum!
I’ll resume development, and address any issues raised by alpha 2, as soon as I get back from Gran Canaria.

Ive altered my blog site so that the doctype is HTML not xHTML (as its not), but now IE on the Mac (5.2 in OSX 10.2 anyway) draws it wrong. WHY??? Anyway, my may try to fix it, I may not - surely we all use Safari anyway.

We have a spammer, ladies and gentlemen, and they’re going after bloggers. Virtuelvis, Masukomi, Beerblog, Bingwalker, Falcon’s Eye, Mentalspace, Uppity Negro, Library Planet, Bill Kearney and Dale Keiger have all encountered the same company spamming their blog comments in the past day: Zipcodeworld.com.
The comment invariably reads “nice article, keep up the good work. lookup zip code” and Bill says the IP is 203.106.151.137 - keep an eye out, folks, and ban that IP.

This thread is getting pretty crazy now.

Ive tweaked the CD and Movie panels on the right hand side. They are now randomly chosen from however many CDs or Movies I have to choose from, currently 3 each.
You can also click on the text underneath the image to see all of them. It opens a new window and lists them all. Unfortunately it still shows the links underneath so if you click on them in the newly opened window it will open another one the same.
Oh well never mind.

Thistle is the name, one of my ideas, PHPlusxom got into the top 10. YAY!
