Installed OSX on my work Mac over the weekend, and have used it at work yesterday and today so far. Its not going bad, the only apps that Im using in Classic are Quark 5 (we are currently testing InDesign 2), Adobe Distiller (but only dues to still using Quark) and WhamNet Transmision Manager (to send ISDNs). All seems to be OKish so far, the only problem being, predictably, Quark which insists on me choosing my printer from the Chooser every so often or i cant print. Obviously this isnt really Quarks fault, but Apples as it works on another Mac which has Quark, and we are testing InDesign 2 on, but not mine or another Mac. Its just that Quark is the only Classic app that I print from within. That and also, i havent yet found a screen res Im happy with. Heres an article in MacUser about Quark pulling from Macs, which is why were trying InDesign 2. And heres Quarks page about Quark 6.
Ill bring more news if i think anys worthy of such.
As found on MrBarrett Well Known Mac OS X Ports.
Id like to set my show/hide buttons to be persistant between pages and visiting the site. Ive tried PHP cookies with php variables and just remembering the CSS style, and i cant get my head around javascript. So If you know how to do this.. please, do tell.
Matt Gemmell has done an interesting pre-review of Panthers UI and I think on the whole I agree. Im really NOT looking forward to a metal Finder, though I think you may be able to change it. Also, wheres the G5 PowerBooks? On the plus side, the switching user rotatey cube looks mad (Ill have to create extras users JUST to show it off). And I am too impressed by the PORN key.
I have to agree with Matt, Command K is a much abused shortcut, even by Apple and they REALLY need to sort this out. Apple used to be the leaders in consistency.
If you have a blog based on blosxom you probably dont have trackback facilities heres a form you can use instead.
