With a steekin PC above it.

Look … Mmmm … Dribble

And it is at work.

With the purchase of the above Belkin WNAP and an Apple Airport Extreme card, im now wireless.

Looks like an old rollercoaster
So I know this guy named Ross and one time he was at a LAN party and these people from a wedding reception across the hall kept crashing it, so he went over into the wedding reception and danced. This is quite possibly the best video ever.

Well, this is my front room (more of a test if im honest).
Some fine Maps for UT2003 from CliffyB.
Watching When the god squad came to town on BBC2, I cant shake the feeling that its s spoof. Its all to good to be true, the little scallies asking all the difficult questions, rebelious teenagers, Middle class christians helping the poor - all the usual stereo types. But it seems there is an Eden in Hamersly, but Google doesnt find many relevent results for Eden. It just feels like a Chris Morris program weve yet to discover - though Morris usually does stuff for Channel 4, maybe the greatest trick the Devil pulled is convincing the world he doesnt exist.
Is absolute SHITE, and why is Justin Timberlake trying to sound like Eminem. Apparently the global campaign has been lauded for its excellents, but it really is crap. A jumbled up mish-mash montage of camcorder video and proper video making a seeping slush of dreary feel good factor treacle pudding.
well, thats my view anyways.
Well duh. Widespread use of any one product in any market is going to create a likelyhood of a weak link, let alone MS in the computer world. Cashpoints seem to be powered by NT and till in supermarkets and reward card points etc etc, all liable for attack by virii or hackers.
Why has it taken everyone so long to realise that MS effectivly has a monopoly on the computer industry? This sint good for the users as it removes competition and a reason for MS to innovate, especially as they can just buy up any rival and immediately remove any need to compete with that company.
I suppose its likely that any large group of individuals will gravitate towards one system, but MSs 90%+ market share (pah share thats a joke) is mainly due to their canny IBM-PC link with DOS in the early days.
I dont see what can be done in the short term but there definitely needs to be some competition, the only viable ones though are Apple (currently roughly 1.5% of the net) and Linuxs various flavours (currently 0.5% or thereabouts). So how can this huge dominace be altered? Maybe MS can be forced to produce versions of Office for Linux, or reduce the price of Office for Mac. Possibly a better idea would be to force them to open up their code and letter other companies develop Office for Windows and these other OSs, I know Id like a cut down Word (yes I know that TextEdit in Panther opens and saves Word files and Open Office is effectively the whole suite for Linux or OSX under X11).
I cant help thinking that MS reminds me of Quark in the DTP industry, I use QuarkXpress and I know fundamently its not as good as InDesign but the difficulties involved in moving to ID are just too much hassle. I also dont really like Adobes UI.
Im considering installing KDE on my AluBook, I had it on my iBook but ive forgotten the steps so hopefully this macrumors forum can help.
Im not a football fan, but its a shame Pompeys last match (they lost 1-2 home against Blackburn) wasnt as good as their previous matches (IE they lost). I really should post about things I dont know much about when ive been drinking.

I just couldnt resist yet another (or YA as we used to say) test.
On a lighter and more appropriatly post pub note, The Pilot Show by Channel 4 (I cant belive I just typed for instead of 4) is fucking excellent, it features the same actor as the comedy character actor from My New Best Friend, another Channel 4 beaut. I dont know his name, and cannot find it from a quick glance on either of the 2 sites, but he is great and fsck knows where the hell CHannel 4 found him. Well done Channel 4, but I dont know if hell be able to do anything else of any other kind after these. Although Chris Morris seems to manage to still fool gulible celebs even though hes beeen doing his stuff for years.
Blast fills the screen.
Fade to black.
Credits.
LOL, cheers Salam I love that, made me crease up as I read it (page 16, that book I kept going on about)
There is actually a site for the book that I discovered when I glanced at Salams site after posting my previous post
Ive have so far managed to get to page 29 of Salam Paxs book The Baghad Blog, this is November 2, 2003 and the books starts on 7 September 2002. The book is 203 pages long and ends on 28 June 2003 so I guess most of the book is during the bombing.
Its a really interesting book and as I mentioned in the books section is basically his website in print. Hes been called the Anne Frank of blogging/Iraq by a few people and im not too sure yet of how he would feel about this so err there, Sorry im writing this after a visit to the pub so my train of thought wanders and my typing becomes irratic. I also find my self deleting errors I think ive made but havent, or typing 8 letters and discovering an error I have to delete and re-type.
Maybe not a good state of mind to try to post similary to Salam, IE longer more interesting posts. I really like his style of writing and I guess a career (took 5 goes at typing that, thank the great Steve [Jobs of course] above for spelling ctrl click thing in Safari) in jouralism is his. He seems to have quite afew friends in The Guardian.
Ahh, I just remembered what I wanted to say earlier about the book. I have to assume hes being paid for the book as Ian Katz, Guardian Features Editor has written an intro. Salam has also written a fortnightly article for The Guardian (maybe its Just *Guardian* now since thats Ian Katz’s [what a time to worry about whether its correct or not to use an apostrope the] title in the book).
So far ive learnt that Salam (keep trying to write Salman for some reason) Pax isnt an regular Joe in Bagdad and that regular Joes would probablybeat the shit out of us infidels
thats from page 27, 29 October 2002.
Also, most people thought he was Raed, when the blog title was dearraed. Raed was a friend in Isreal that he used the blog to communicate with. I dont know if Raed is his real name - but it doesnt matter anyway. I do know that Salams name is Salam but his last name isnt Pax, apparently is some clever Arabic/Latin language thing.
If you read this Salam, please dont be offended and and I hope if you choose to you get a good journlism job from this, or maybe youll just use VIZ all day (A piece of architects software that he expressed a certain kind of affection early on in the blog).
Was that my longest post ever? BTW, this post was brought to you whist I was watching Scream on the TV (OK, but 2 and 3 were blurgh) and the number 4 (just random).
I actually viewed my website via my T610 as well as posting this post via my T610. By this I mean connecting to the net by it. It seems pretty fast here in the UK, about 6Kb per sec download, no idea upload but the first test image here was pretty quick.

Im testing by connecting via my T610 and posting this.
Not entirely scientific comparison, but times to open Classic, this is from the opening Classic dialog appearing to it dissapearing for our new 1.6ghz G5 with 1gig RAM and dual 1.2ghz G4 with 2gig RAM.
G4 - 38 seconds
G5 - 23 seconds
