EastEnders - confusion over accent

Why in EastEnders has Dens daughter, whos lived in America for most of her life and started in EastEnders with an American accent suddenly gone awl cockeney gor blimey guvernor, strike-a-light?
I dont know why im bothered EastEnders is really shit.
