Ive been playing with wordpress, this is my first trial with wordpress and i doubt ill move over to it as i cant easily transfer my current posts and theme. Feel free to play with it and register to post on it though.

I cant seem to get this new posting from email thing to work from my T610. It appears to be due to some odd text in the subject line (=?ISO-8859-1?Q) which makes the script think the password is wrong. I think Ill try to get around this by removing tyhe need for a password, this should be ok as ive set up the mail rules on the server to only forward the email onto the blog writing script if the subject matches a certain phrase so people still cant post to my blog.

This is my first post via email thanks to proc2blog - it was pretty difficult to get the little bugger working.

Ive been working on a fairly extensive style tweak to my site, its basically a blue and red style and yes it does look similar to justwatchthesky. This is sort of unintentional as although I do like justwatchthesky, I never set out to copy it. What ive done is fairly self explanatory, the things you cant tell from the screengrab are;
The background grad sticks to the bottom of the screen as you scroll.
The content (lefthand pane) grad top of the screen as you scroll.
The sidebar (duh, the lefthand pane) grad top of the screen as you scroll.
Also the hover is the same as the visited (see MacIdol) but the text is the same colour as the intro red colour.
I used a png and some css jiggery pokey to make the banner grad go over the content, sidebar and the dividing dotted line, consequently IE on neither the Mac or PC particularly like it - oh well, tough - you want to surf the web, use something decent.
Im in two minds after getting this far, a few hours work) - I think that its not as friendly looking as the current style because it seems to accentuate the squareness of the site and also because ive not done a drop shadow on the box thing (Im not even sure I can do a drop shadow on this). Also the blue, being typical of blue, is very corporate in feel. Ive been flicking between the two using Safaris tabs and the current style just feels better at the moment.
So what to do? Well I think I may play with it some more but I think ultimately Itll just be another false start filed in the “I doubt Ill look again” bin.
