Well, ive just bought Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, IMO one of the best Maiden albums after the self titled first album Iron Maiden (which doesnt have Bruce Dickinson on vocalists duty) and Kilers (Ive also just bought this as I write as im sure it wasnt available before.
Seventh Son is an immense album and well worth a listen too, especially the title track. Also worth getting is Powerslave for Rime of the Ancient Mariner - I suspect Ill have bought this album just as i post this too - Damn you Apple iTunes Store!

Just a quick post - Ive been considering revamping my site for a while now to make it a bit lighter and not so heavy on they eyes, and whilst doing someing at work today, these colours appeal to me.

The 3 along the bottom are optional accents to go with the above 2 as lighter sub colours.
Anyway, Its just an idea to the moment.

Hmm, just noticed the 3rd colour and the sub colours are basically the current colours- oh well. Maybe itll have to be blue

w00t! Just got my first ever MVP (Most Valued Player) in a proper OAP SOCOM II Match. Only 56 points or so, but as Im normally luck to hit 30 points ‘tis nay bad for me.

Some anniversary of some kind, whatever a 2 year anniversary is called, is due on my blog shortly. I know the archives say December 2002 but it was actually much earlier in the year that I started it, although Im not quite sure when.
The first post was the Terrorist Busters logo from what I remember.
It was originally powered by Blosxom, the cgi weblog then Phposxom which is a php version of blosxom and finally Thistle which is basically an l33t version of Phposxom - all were using DynDNS to pull the blogs off my G4/450 Mac and they all use a simple folder and text file structure to read the blog posts, which is really nice for a n00b.
I heavily customised Thistle with various style switchers and hidey/showey stuff but I had a look around various blog engines like Moveable Type (too complicated for me and apparently they charge or something now) and TextPattern (just didnt click for some reason). So I just fell on Wordpress. Importing my old posts was fun but I managed it and so here I am on Wordpress, spreading the .. well .. word and Ive even managed to get my sister blogging with Wordpress.
Anyway, time to play online on my PS2 and have a pizza so … goodbye.

Im working on a small update in the style of my blog, probably unnoticeable to most people but hey wtf. Its mainly a proof of concept, but also should reduce my bandwidth consiberably. as the main background with the shadow isnt the 2000px+ tile that at currently is. the only sting in the tail is that the current shadow on either side of the content is a PNG so any IE using PC types will see a grad with a grey area (if i remember correctly). Frankly I couldnt be fucked to fix it even though I know theres a work around. IE should support transparent PNGs and if you choose to use a condemned browser then more fool you. Its not a major UI thing so you wont loose much but you may like to try a better browser and while your there, why not go for a decent email client.
I still have plans to radically alter my design but im not set on a style yet so it may be a while.

Here are some PS2 games im looking forward to emerging from the bowels of developer land. Some of them benefit greatly if you have a PS2 Network Adaptor.

Futuristic squad based shooter, online gameplay looks good with different classes of fighter, but the possible over-hyping and taunts of “Halo beater” (although Halo was never the game it was intended to be since MS bought Bungie and rushed it out) worry me that it wont live up to expectations - early days so well see.

Not alot to say really, latest in the fantastic range of GT titles, online up to 6 racers, some kind of clan support. Get Gran Turismo 4: Prologue for a taster of the engine.

Another team based squad shooter. Im not a fan of Star Wars, but this looks like a fantastic game - being able to take AT-ATs and those big dog things will be good fun online.

From the Star Wars people but in a modern setting, this looks like fun, sort of SOCOM II with vehicles.

Graphics look fantastic, just more of the same stealth action from Snake. Online action would be appreciated.

Ghost Recon Jungle Storm is a good game, but suffers from being a PC (although apparently the xbox version is better) with a fuggly UI and very straight-down-the-line no frills fighting actions. From the videos online of GR2 ive seen, this is shaping up to be a Socom beater.

Im in too minds about this, I completed GTA 3, never finished Vice City as I got bored with it. Ive heard some good things abotut San Andreas though, and if nothing else Ill hire it and give it a chance.

Yet another fps (well 3rd person actually) - this isnt online but looks good nonetheless. I think ill be renting this.

Whilst searching, I found this F1 2004 game which is online. Ive become a bit jaded about F1 games over the years as a few real turkeys have been released and you really need to spend the full 2 hours on the race to get the full benefit of the game - but well see, i may well rent it.

BTW, I play these PS2 games online with like minded gamers from the OAP clan as the name suggests, were slightly older than your regular PS2 gamer with the lower age limit being 26 (though if youre nice to us and buy us Digestives to dip in our tea we’ll consider you - well I wont but the elders will). Theres no weapon limits in games and aborting for rank is not tolerated - its all just for fun. so meat us on the IRC (accessible from the site), or see if you can find an open room in the current online gaming fav - Socom II. Closed rooms are normally held in Norge lobby but you need to know the password for that.

While im here - this Robert Rankin book which is due out shortly is worth having a ganders at, Ive read all his others and theyre basically contemporary comedy scifi. I cant stand all that Lord of the Rings - Dragons and Goblins shit so Pratchett doesnt appeal to me, but this is very funny stuff.
