Yeah well, fuck ‘em. I *really* dont like power companies cold calling at my door.

Ive just noticed this interesting little thing about the new PowerBooks. Presumably we’ll have an OS update at some point so we can all have this.
165 Apple ads available as a bittorrent #.
Most of them are typical Americana cheese-fest ads, however of note for me include following (some of which Ive seen before);

The classic 1984 ad.

You may already have noticed on sites that is the Macs 21st Birthday and theres a lovely little video of it on those previous sites, and mirrored around the place.
21 years hey… that means I was 10 when it came out, a scary thought. I even had relatively extensive use of the early Macs, including an SE, SE/30 and a Plus. My first home computer (after my Commodore 64) was in fact a Mac Classic followed my an LC (no L33T LC II or LC475 for me) which was pretty good at the time. I couldnt have imagined when I sat in front of my 9” black and white 8mhz 2mb RAM, playing Dark Castle - the likes of Halo or Unreal Tournament 2004.
BTW, heres a torrent for the file.

Oh yes, this is a pretty damn good fucking movie. Go see, enjoy, laugh… oh and please _get_ the joke.

Yes I know old news blah blah… but after a long time of forcing myself not to buy Halo due to MicroSoft acquiring Bungie and then never releasing the game that Halo was promised to be during all those years to the many Marathon fans, I bought it. And yes its pretty damn good.
Ill do a every so slightly more in depth (no, seriously) reviewette later.

Here is my PS2, currently in pieces.. Originally uploaded by somefool.
Its been doing clickety-clickety CD, non game loading action at the moment. SO as I got fed up with dismantling and err re-mantling it, Ive just left it in pieces
Mallow 1.52, 22-1-5 - Changed font colours from lightgray and dimgray to HEX equivalents as suggested by Mikkel Tscherning, this should ensure the CSS validates.

Saw the link to Feedster, Technorati and Bloglines idea which Michael got from Jeremy Zawody, liked it, lifted it. Just look next to the existing related post links, just _dont_ expect there to be many related posts on those sites ![]()

Seems gravatars are down so Ive turned them off for the moment.
*Back up*
Ok, so *yes* this jumping around _is_ quite clever, *however it is NOT* the cultural/spiritual phenomena this program (and one last year on BBC2 I think) would like you to think.
Its jumping around in urban areas from object to object, or under or through etc etc. It is *NOT* subverting modern urban landscape for your own spiritual enlightenment
Christ, this sort of thing has been going on with skateboarders, rollerblade/skaters and BMXers for decades (atleast from a skateboarding point of view), moreover *I* used to jump from posts to posts when I was a kid and you see many doing just the same nowadays.
So Im bemused as to why this is apparently seen by Channel 4 and BBC program planners as some kind of new modern dance or whatever.
*EDIT:* Jump London _and_ last nights Jump UK (or maybe Jump Britain) were both Channel 4, not BBC. I think I got confused by the BBCs ident which uses this jump thing. Its worth noting that Sky (I think) did a decent parody of the BBC ident.

Some very purdy iPod icons.
Apparently, Ofcom (UK broadcasting regulators) have received 20,000 complaints about the broadcasting of Jerry Springer The Opera on BBC 2 this Saturday (8th) at 10pm. Supposedly theres 2000+ ‘fucks’ and 600+ ‘cunts’ in it, but Id also heard someone on Radio 4 refuting that claim. Mediawatch have been behind alot of this, the self appointed guardians of our moral fortitude. Well thank you very much, but Im an adult and I can decide what to watch quite happily myself thank-a-you very much. Its after the 9pm watershed and if youre worried about children watching it then I suggest you speak to the parents.
Its just a shame that _they_ got to PopeTown before the general public could make their own decisions about the worthyness or not of it.

Sorry Michael I stole your ‘comment number after post title’ style (well copied badly). The thing is though.. it just works, so why not?
*EDIT:* You may notice yet more shameless leeching of visual style - If you dont know what I mean, just look down. ![]()

Can you see the running theme for today?
My current PowerBook desktop, nothing special.
BTW, the desktop randomly rotates amongst about 40 (even that amount varies almost weekly as I tweak the chaff from the corn) different pics every 5 minutes, mainly from Pixelgirl. This one is from Mandolux.

My current work desktop. Nothing exciting I think - apart from possibly the little SouthPark icons. Theyre past and present studio employees, I am matthew and matthew2, matthew 2 representing me playing SocomII (badly) online on my PS2.

NetNewsWire now supports Podcasts properly (well technically they’re enclosures), although it has been possible to use Podcasts in previous verisons of NetNewsWire (non-Lite) it wasnt particularly easy. NNW handles Podcasts the way I’d expect them to, *not* the way it wants to, which is great as I’ve tried all the Podcasting apps I can find and they just all felt so fugly. Even NNW with the script felt 1000 times more natural.
Heres my current Podcast subscriptions in OPML, Ill try to keep this up to date. A podcast in this list doesnt mean I listen to them regularly, just that Im giving it a go:

The new nightly WordPress 1.5 slightly alters the way it references include files in the template (sidebars etc). Im not sure its worth altering Mallow yet as it seems to work fine, but Ill have a dig into the new code at some point.
I should really slow down the releases of Mallow though as Its probably quite annoying if you _actually_ update with each version. Hopefully my Read Me changelog makes it clearish what ive done so you can chose to ignore the latest if you like. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I like to upload each minor amend (within reason) as I dont see the point in keeping them to myself.
