The winners of the WordPress 1.5 theme competition have been announced and sadly Im rather disappointed. Its not bitterness that Mallow didnt win anything, honest. Some of the winning choices just seem odd in my opinion when compared with us losers.
Oh well, move on and if youre using Mallow - enjoy it, if youre switching from Mallow to one of those entered into to theme competition - have a good look around, theres some great themes there.

I'm a tad supprised mallow didn't get very far, it's one of the best entered IMHO.
I did notice one thing. Virtually all winners were in the last few entries submitted. Being a recent submission = more recent exposure to the judges I guess.
I'll probably have a use for mallow again at some point. I'm not the only one who likes mallow bro, that's all that matters eh? :)
Was it just me, or were four or five of the winners almost identical, just a different header image and background colour?
I never expected my theme would win anything, I just entered for a giggle.
I did notice that the winners seemed to be the more recent entries, so I guess that was a factor.
The downloads of Mallow seem to be going pretty healthily and my technorati cosmos is pretty healthy too. I only entered it in the comp really to make sure it was where plenty of WP users could see it and download if they wanted.
I dotn know how exactly they were judged but It seems to me that having to install and work with the themes for a month or so might have been a good idea.
I think Mallow is one of the most versitle themes out there. All of the "winners" were alike, and pretty plain to be honest. I was disappointed as well.
I thought so too, but then I _would_ be biased :-D
