This is where Ill be depositing my IFOS 2005 and Trafalgar 200 pictures. The fleet review is on today so hopefully I can get down to the seafront after work to take some pics.
Movies of the final fireworks made with my Sony Ericsson K700i cameraphone - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Apparently there was twice as many explosives as there were at the last Olympic’s finale. It was certainly pretty impressive. It had been raining quite heavily on and off all day, and then a heavy thunder and lightning shower after work so I just made it down for the final big show. Unfortunately, whilst I _did_ take my camera, the batteries had runout
Also more pictures again with my K700i.

A smattering of new paint over here at ‘the fool’ as Ive just decided to start calling my humble dwellings on the World Wide Whatsit.
Nothing major, still uses the idea (which has grown on me somewhat) of making the latest post the most wham bam in your face, and the previous posts a little subtler with sort of mid-importance stuff sliced in between and hopefully irrelevant frippery banished to the back pages. Ive move asides up next to the recent post and flickr back where asides was - seems to make more sense as its now actually _aside_. Ive tightened up the design a bit, namely with slightly smaller type (Ouch, some of you may not like but it *was huge*).
So its gone from basically green/red to blue/red - not a colour combination Id have normally chosen, but, i confess it was a bit of a random choice, but still it just grew on me as I applied it over the site. Looking again now, it is maybe a bit girly but Ill stick with it for a bit and see.
No doubt Ive missed some bits of css as my file is in quite a state but as ever Ill fix that as and when I see it or its pointed out to me.
I still need to choose a banner pic Im happier with, but this will do for the _noooo_.

Its hard to believe, but as rumoured, Apple is _indeed_ switching its processors to Intel.
I was initially shocked by this as I watched the keynote but it seems Steve Jobs is working his magic and having watched the keynote it now all seems very sensible. If their Rosetta PowerPC emulation runs as promised then it should be a good move, it seems to run a tad slowly in Steve’s demo but then its clearly not the final version.
Apple have (as rumoured) been dual developing Mac OSX and (it appears from the keynote) all their apps as dual PowerPC/Intel from the beginning as a ‘Just in case’ scenario. Of course this also means they can switch _back_ to PowerPC at the drop of a hat if it all goes a bit Pete Tong, but that seems unlikely.
I still have a slightly bad taste in my mouth from the idea, after all, dont Intel processors run hotter and use more power than PowerPC? Arent Intel portable chips much worse for power consumption than PowerPC? Are we going to have to put up with “Centrino” technology in Macs! Last time I looked in my Mac Evangelist’s Handbook® - _Intel Inside_ was a bad thing! But dammit, Mr Jobs makes it sound *so* good! I just want to come along with the ride anyway.
I guess this should mean that some clever so and so will make Windows run on the new Intel Macs without the need for VirtualPC, in regular windows (though still I guess _Windows_ windows), not a huge bonus for myself .. although maybe games! Mmmmmmm!
First Intel Macs are promised to be shipping this time next year. I would _guess_ consumer Macs first as Apple have more control over the software/hardware so it should be smoother.
I wonder how Bill feels about this, even though MacOSX wont run on regular PCs, Apple is pissing on their lawn so to speak and they _cant_ be that happy.
What about Quark? Can they keep up with another change or will we have to wait another 3 years for QuarkXpress running properly on Intel Macs or will it have to run in Rosetta indefinitely.
To conclude: Im shocked but hopeful. ![]()

Well, heres my _attempt_ at a meme, it may or may _not_ take off but here goes.
Create a smart playlist in iTunes with your *top 25 most played tracks* then submit that to iTunes as an iMix. You do that by selecting the playlist then going File->Create an iMix. Its unlikely that all of your tracks will get selected, but what you do next is select those tracks that were also on iTunes store in your playlist, order by playcount (highest at the top) and then show us all.
Also leave a link to your playlist so others can vote on it.
