Open Mic Night will be every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from July at The Fawcett Inn, Fawcett Road, Portsmouth, UK!
I have just splashed out on 2 Safari plugins that Id have to recommend: InquisitorX and Saft. Ive had the beta version of Inquisitor for a while now, which was a Spotlight style autocomplete for the Google search feature. The new version adds a few extra features and Ive customised it to add a few search sites I use quite regularly. My only real reason for buying Saft is the crash protection, where by if Safari unexpectedly quits (which it is doing quite a lot at the moment) or if you quit Safari, when its next opened the previous tabs and their pages are restored.
Why is it a common religious assumption that without religion we'd all be killing each other? I just dont get it. [VIA] Update, hopefully this will finish the matter once and for all ;-)

If Google insist on those fancy rich media, interstitials, expanding ads and floating ads then I shall be turning off adsense on my sites.

Not a chance

Ah, the great irony of the British public - the winner of Celebrity Big Brother is not a celebrity haha.

Never content with my sites layout for more than a few weeks at the most, heres a very rough layout basically created by splicing up a screen grab in photoshop. Ive not thought about single pages yet.

The GUI "noun-verb", things you learn on the .mac blog.
More than half the British population does not accept the theory of evolution, according to a survey. 22% chose creationism, 17% opted for intelligent design, 48% selected evolution theory and the rest did not know. Fuck, seems Im not living in the sane country I thought I was.
I have a Newsvine account, this does mean that I have some invites, and whilst Im not planning on handing them out randomly - if you dont ask... My main reason for mentioning this though is that if you have a Newsvine account I'd like you to leave your url here so I can add you to my watch list.

OK, maybe Ive done some sort of odd thing to my Wordpress 2 install (though Im pretty sure I havent) but should I get an email for every comment, whether it be in moderation or not? If its not standard WP practice it should be. I would like an email for every comment telling me what its current status is, and in addition an option in each email to put it into moderation, delete and approve. If I put it into moderation I should be able to choose some key words to add to my spam list (similar to the old spamwords plugin). Similarly, if Im approving it then surely I should be told why its in moderation and also give me some way to avoid similar comments going in there again. Is this not just common sense? I just dont feel some aspects of WP have evolved sufficiently with WP2.
Ha great, cries of WANKER as Galloway comes out of the Big Brother house! :-D

Safari (Version 2.0.3 (417.8)) quits on my work Dual G5 whenever I try to download a file! Grr F**k! Mother Fkr! Update Seems to have been GrowlSafari causing it.

I have spent the last couple of days playing with a few web based news readers/aggregators. My reason for this? Well, I use NetNewsWire and am very happy with it, but Id like to be able to read my subscriptions anywhere and not have to deal with re-reading stories. To that end, what follows are my potted reviews and experiences with some of the options I found, in no particular order. All feeds were imported from an OPML file created by exporting my feeds from NetNewsWire with groups entact.

With Windows Media® Components for QuickTime, by Flip4Mac™, you can play Windows Media files (.wma and .wmv) directly in QuickTime Player and view Windows Media content on the Internet using a Web browser. (Seems you can also convert .WMVs and .WMFs to MPEG or whatever with Quicktime Pro :-D [VIA]
I have a growing realisation I really dont like how Wordpress 2 handles images.
