I have a growing realisation I really dont like how Wordpress 2 handles images.

Oh come on dude; you have to do better than that :)
1) What's the problem
2) How is it solved?
And then I'll see if I can't help through Shuttle.
Ok, fair enough.
I dont like that I cant choose where it saves the file and I find the whole thumbnail and menu thing highly confusing.
If I choose "use original" "link to page" it still puts in the thumbnail and links to some page within the static page like this http://myurl.com/year/month/day/posttitle/picturetitle/ not as I would expect, the post.
When I edit the img code in the post it also seems to ignore some of my changes. Maybe this is WP2 trying to be clever I dont know.
For example, I used MarEdit to remove the extra picturetitle in the link for my One More Thing post and on posting WP had just removed everything in the img tag so was just [img /]
Oh right yeah 2.
Let me choose a folder where I can dump them all (as with WP pre-2) and as for my other problem, well Im not sure really but there must be a better way. Maybe make thumbnails an option so I can simply choose my pic and stick that in the editor if I want to.
2.0.1 will allow the upload folder to be changed. It will also use the file size image in the editor when "use original" is selected.
Or..... why wait for 2.0.1 and just use the old upload method?
Sure, it's not inline or anything fancy like that, but at least it does what you tell it
I hated the new way that WP2 dealt with images. If I hadn't discovered the old image plugin the day after I updated I would have considered going back to 1.5! Anyways, that plugin and Iimage Browser do the image handling job just fine for me.
Jeez, you've got some fancy commenting code running here don't ya! I really enjoyed watching my comment come up so I thought I would pay respects by saying "cool site" and watching another comment magically appear! Did you design/code this all yourself?
Cheers, you can read about my tussel with AJAX comments here. Very little of it is my code, most is from the site linked to on that page. Its not new, Michael at BB has had AJAX comments for a while, and his K2 theme uses them. I just wanted a piece of the action ;-)
Ive not tried the plugin yet to be honest, most of my images come by way of flickr.
have they fixed this yet?
