I decided it was time for a new camera, my old Fuji FinePix 40i hasnt been used for a while and is a bit outdated now so Ive been shopping.
I looked at the T5, T7 and T9. A friend has the T7 so I know theyre a pretty good family of cameras and the specs for the T7 dont seem significantly different from the T5 for an extra £20 or so over the T5s £200. The T9 is 6MP instead of the T5/T7 5MP and adds some sort of anti-shake thing to it as well as some other seemingly minor updates but is £60 more than the T5.
I currently use my Sony Ericsson W900i for most pics as its convenient, so I wanted a camera I could wander around with pretty much all the time to take the odd pic with - hence a nice small compact camera.
When its charged overnight ill go take some pics.
It seems my iPod upgrade will have to wait a while.
The new series from Armando Iannucci (If you havent, you need to watch his political satire, The Thick Of It), Time Trumpet is on BBC 2 in a few weeks. Its a satirical look back at todays TV from the future. From what Ive seen in the 10 minute preview, it looks very similar in style to Chris Morris satire such as The Day Today.

I watched Kill Bill 1 and 2 this weekend, yes I know theyve been out for ages - so sue me! I actually fell asleep for half of Kill Bill 2 so I need to watch that again. Anyway, the reason I hadnt watched them was that I was just never really in the mood, I had a free evening so I decided to give it a try.
Well, where to start? I found it pretty entertaining, nicely shot and very amusing (as with pretty much any Tarantino film), oh and very violent (duh!) but comedically so. The anime style chapter is great, very cleverly done and I can still hear her eyelids plop as she blinks from under the bead - nicely done.
Now to my quibbles .. the damn no subtitled Japanese stuff - yes! I get it! You really dont need to push the point forward like a chisel in my temple for half the film Quentin! What is amusing for the first 5 minutes as I try to infer from their body language and the odd word I can snatch in the conversation what theyre saying, really does become tiresome after a hour or so. To be fair, Im not too sure how he could have changed this once he started, but Im sure someone could have had a good idea.
Ive just remembered a very small point which irritated me somewhat; In the scene in the kind of board room where the v/o is explaining who everyone is (you know the one where she runs down the desk and chops the guys head off with a sword because he questioned her parentage), the first person is introduced as ‘on her right’ well theyre not on her right, theyre on our right or her left. Not major, but it did puzzle me at the time as Id expect Tarantino to be pedantic about such things.
Only one quibble? Im sure I can remember some more issues I had with it but my heads a blur at the moment after my Kill Bill 1 and 2 marathon.
Coming soon, Kill Bill 2 - the awful truth.
BTW. I also watched Serenity - I really wish I hadnt. I could have watched The Aristocrats or Night of the Creeps - but no, I chose that crap. Oh well, you lives and you learns I guess.

A quick reviewette if you will of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - Its pretty good. Sadly no Keith Richards (I hear he’s in 3 - which 2 sets up quite nicely for), but the CGI for the Davy Jones pirate crew is great - very creepy. The use of the word ‘bugger’ in a Disney film (multiple times even) amused me. All in all a fun romp. Brian Ford has an interesting slant on someone else’s review.
