A few more issues with left channel only recording, but we do at least now know the cause - a dodgy knob! Also first time recording straight to external drive, albeit a USB and not Firewire drive, but it went well nonetheless.

Huge apologies on this one, problems again this week with “Disk too slow” errors cropping up seemingly every 10 minutes. The hard drive on my MacBook Pro is a very slow 5400rpm drive and whilst its generally ok, when the drive is filling up and space is scarce it can get a few of these errors. A solution is in hand though and plans are in place to get a Firewire drive to move the recording stress off the Mac’s hard drive. The drive is also needed to go with the new desk.

That said, I think the recording went well and the small breaks hopefully shouldn’t spoil your enjoyment.

A few problems at the start with the USB audio again mysteriously over to the left. This week though it even more mysteriously sorts its self out over time. Maybe a USB audio foible? Who knows?.

As discussed previously we are getting a replacement desk, but it’s a Phonic Helix 18 channel, not merely 12. It should arrive in a couple of weeks and hopefully will alleviate all our problems with the USB desk.

Another night with a few technical issues, which unfortunately for some reason we cannot get to the bottom of Cool Banana’s set is only 5 minutes long and then at the end loops a small sample continuously. I’ve left a few seconds of the looping on the end. It’s possibly due to the desk being moved and possibly a dodgy USB cable - not sure.

Slight problem with The Autons recording, “Slow Disk Error” lost about 3 seconds from a song. Time to get a Firewire drive maybe.

Apple’s dotmac hosting seems to be down/slow at the moment - sorry.

Yet another fun Wednesday Open Mic Night at The Fawcett Inn.

I’ve not had much of a chance to play Halo the last couple of days due in part to Open Mic Night but I shall today. You can see my Halo stats here.

I started Halo on Heroic (I think it was Heroic, not the most difficult setting anyway) and unaware that my 360 wasn’t online I launched myself into the single player mode. About 30 minutes in I noticed the 360 was offline and connected the ethernet cable to take it online. The 360 dutifully told me it needed to update and I let it. It did warn me that it might need to reboot but I let it go anyway, assuming it had saved my process. How wrong was I? Nope, it hadn’t saved and I had to redo the previous half hour. Not a major problem, but annoying nonetheless.

Aside from that little outing and a couple of games online I took it over to a friends and we LANd their Elite and my Premium together with each of our copies of Halo 3 for a 2 TV, 4 player split screen set of deathmatches - FUN!

Last night was a lesson learned - “Remember to plug the USB into the right on my MacBook Pro”. The hissing you can hear throughout is due to this. I’ve no ideas what’s happened as it used to work then suddenly stopped working.

So sorry about that, enjoy the music anyway.
