He's done it, he shows how it can be used within a site's structure, he found a good size was 158px x 158px and he's done it.

A custom webclip for the iPod Touch & iPhone of course, it's all the rage.

This new frowney face is taken from my Halo 3 profile.

iPhone > iPod Touch

I think I might not buy an iPod touch and instead get an iPhone despite my early misgivings about the 8gb on the iPhone compared with a possible 16gb on the touch – the more versatile iPhone wins out over the doubling of capacity. Plus, I'd still be with O2 - paying them my usual monthly fee. I've asked about Edge coverage in my area and it should be good. So roll on November the 9th - which just so happens to be the same month as my birthday, allowing me yet another excuse to get a shiny new Apple iToy.

Mum was never the word

Apple's special event is in London today, MacRumours has a big list of live blogging sites;

- Engadget

- MacFormat.co.uk

- CrunchGear

- SlashGear

- Stuff.tv

- Gadgetshow

- Techztalk

- WorldofApple.net

- T3.co.uk

- Pocket-lint.co.uk

This can only be the iPhone on O2 so let's see.

"8GB will be sold for £269"

, "not going on sale until November 9th" - meh. I'm still getting an iPod Touch.

"Q: 7,000 hotspots in the UK... but are they free?
Matthew: "Cloud is the WiFi provider, and yes, it's free." Steve goes on to again tout the advantages of WiFi. Matthew nodding head vigorously, "It's a lot faster.""

- So as an O2 customer can I use this with my iPod touch? Looking at TheCloud's price plans (if you can't get it free courtesy of O2 and Apple) are ludicrous. Why the extra cost for paying by SMS and why a different price per month for one device compared with unlimited WIFI devices? Seems like the WIFI supplying game is the place to be.

I might have to have a chat in my local O2 store...

iPod touch

Ive not had a chance to read up much on it yet, but of course I want an iPod touch. I also like the new look Nano despite there being some debate around about it looking 'chubby'.

So, iPod Touch or iPhone? It's certainly a tough decision: I'd like an iPhone but it's currently only 8gig and will of course come tethered with a phone contract; The iPod Touch is a nice proposition but it still means carrying a phone around and whilst 16gb isn't bad, it's not the 30gb I currently have. I'll have to wait a bit I guess.

Steve Jobs on DRM

Steve Jobs makes his thought known about DRM - Imagine a world where every online store sells DRM-free music encoded in open licensable formats. In such a world, any player can play music purchased from any store, and any store can sell music which is playable on all players. [VIA] As ever, John Gruber has an insightful (inciteful?) and interesting take on the whole thing. Brian Ford on Newsvine also has an interesting take.

Happy Birthday iPod

The iPod is 5 years old today! Uneasy Silence has a video of it's 'birth'.
